FEBRUARY 2019 WINNER

Objective

My clients bought a new home that was in need of some updating before they moved in. The first thing they said had to go, was the two-tone black and white eighties kitchen with thermofoil cabinets and laminate countertops that had a wood painted edging. They were after a bit more of a modern country style with a warm and inviting atmosphere to gather, entertain, and cook in.

Features

This kitchen has a large wood hood over their 48" gas range, which they wanted as the main focal point. Then we touched up the kitchen with a single basin hammered copper apron sink, textured sandstone tile backsplash, granite countertops, stacked crown to tie in at the ceiling, and all cabinet sides finished with decorative end panels. They wanted a large island with a unique shape to add for extra seating around the end, which had additional storage on the seating side as well. The desk area was changed out for a serving area with a 2 drawer refrigerator incorporated in it with the upper cabinets having classic camed glass to display in.
